Overview

We are currently seeking an Information Technology Server Administrator to be located at Aegis Ashore Poland. Serves as IT Server system technical specialist for Consolidated Afloat Networks Enterprise Services (CANES) and Automated Digital Network Systems (ADNS). Serves as cognizant subject matter expert for all system and network integrations and provides network and system impacts for system configuration changes.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions/Job Duties:

  • Provides expert knowledge of Navy network systems to include LAN/wide area network, ADNS and CANES, to facilitate the operational readiness of the Aegis Ashore Missile Defense System (AAMDS).
  • Provides CANES & ADNS engineering to ensure ADNS network support is fully integrated into the A3C4I system and fully inter-operable with other ship and shore nodes, as well as AEGIS BMD requirements.
  • Maintain team effectiveness and efficiency by defining, delivering, and supporting strategic plans for implementing information technologies.
  • Serves as cognizant subject matter expert for all system and network integrations and provides network and system impacts for system configuration changes.
  • Evaluate installation requirements for impact to the site’s network and potential application conflicts that may require external technical assistance in software and hardware upgrades.
  • Process changes in the IT infrastructure that may have a reactive response to externally imposed requirements.
  • Perform maintenance including preventative, fault isolation, tests, and repair on assigned equipment at the organizational level using reference documentation and Command directed maintenance procedures as well as supporting work package documentation.

Typical Working Conditions: Operational environment containing electronic equipment.

 

Essential Physical Tasks:

  • Ability to use a computer keyboard and mouse on a consistent basis.
  • Ability to lift up to 10 lbs. on an occasional basis.
  • Ability to travel OCONUS periodically. 

Written Communications:

  • Operates standard computer based business tools (including but not limited to Microsoft Word and Excel) effectively.
  • Proficient in the reading, writing and comprehension of technical documentation and manuals.

Verbal Communications: Demonstrates excellent clear and concise verbal communication skills.

 

Qualifications

Skills / Qualifications: 

  • In depth knowledge of computer system networking and interfacing protocols used in commercial and/or military communications systems.
  • Five (5) years In depth experience in network system technical engineering network maintenance in Consolidated Afloat Networks Enterprize Services (CANES), and Automated Digital Network Systems (ADNS).
  • Expert knowledge of Navy network systems to include LAN/wide area network, ADNS and CANES.
  • IAT level II certification to support privileged system administrator access to tactical AWS networks.

Customer Interface Activities:

  • Interface with customer and other contractor/civilian/military representatives utilizing clear and effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Provides input for consolidated event Daily Status Reports (DSR) and Weekly Status Reports (WSR).

Project Management: Ability to manage and prioritize tasks to ensure optimum productivity.

 

Minimum Education Requirements:

  • High School diploma or GED. 
  • BS desired 

Required Certifications:

  • DOD Information Assurance Work Force (IAWF) Level II
    • Security+
    • Windows Server
    • Linux +

Pay Range: $90,000.00 to $100,000.00 annually (DOE), plus allowances. 

 

U.S. Citizenship is required

 

Security Clearance:

 

Candidates must have an active clearance OR  the ability to obtain a US Government security clearance, and will be subject to a US security background investigation (i.e. favorable background investigation / credit score). Additional eligibility requirements for access to various levels of classified information may also be required. An active security clearance is highly desirable.
