Overview

We are currently seeking a Aegis Ashore C4I Information Assurance Support Technician for Poland.  Supports Aegis Ashore (AA) C4I network maintenance and engineering, assists the site Information Assurance (IA) manager by performing information assurance officer duties, serves as the network system technical engineer for AA network maintenance, and is the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Consolidated Afloat Network and Enterprise Services (CANES) and Automated Digital Network Systems (ADNS) at AAMDS, Poland. IAT level III certification CISSP or CISM is Required to support privileged system administrator access to tactical Aegis Weapon System (AWS) networks. Also required are Cisco, Windows and Linux certifications.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions/Job Duties:

  • Provides expert technical support to the US Navy's ISSM in managing the Cyber Security program. Knowledge of Navy network systems to include LAN/wide area network, ADNS and CANES to facilitate the operational readiness of the Aegis Ashore Missile Defense System (AAMDS).
  • As the ISSO provides technical expertise to the ISSM for all scheduled Cyber Security inspections.
  • Acts as the technical lead to conduct system administrative and troubleshooting duties. Supports the AAMDS operations using the Navy Information Application Product Suite, Naval Tactical Command Support System, Global Command and Control System – Maritime and casualty reporting tool, and provides technical support in the Common PC Operating System Environment.
  • Provides CANES and ADNS engineering to ensure ADNS network support is fully integrated into the A3C4I system and fully inter-operable with other ship and shore nodes, as well as AEGIS BMD requirements.
  • Supports installation, configuration, and verification of the C4I systems from an information system perspective, including CANES, ADNS, Navigation Sensor System Interface (NAVSSI), and Navy Multi-band Terminal (NMT) baseline integration into the AA test environment, by reviewing documentation and system configurations, providing high-level test data analysis, and providing recommendations to AAMDS leadership.

Essential Physical Tasks:

  • Ability to use a computer keyboard and mouse on a consistent basis.
  • Ability to lift up to 10 lbs. on an occasional basis.
  • Ability to travel OCONUS periodically.

Written Communications: 

  • Operates standard computer based business tools (including but not limited to Microsoft Word and Excel) effectively.
  • Proficient in the reading, writing and comprehension of technical documentation and manuals.

Verbal Communications: Demonstrates excellent clear and concise verbal communication skills.

 

Qualifications

Skills / Qualifications: 

  • Eight (8) years in depth experience in network system technical engineering network maintenance in Consolidated Afloat Network and Enterprise Services (CANES), and Automated Digital Network Systems (ADNS).
  • In depth experience with Information Assurance (IA) management, as information assurance officer.
  • Expert knowledge of Navy network systems to include LAN/wide area network, ADNS and CANES.
  • IAT level III certification to support privileged system administrator access to tactical AWS networks.
  • Military Network Systems CANES, ADNS

Customer Interface Activities:

  • Interfaces with customers and other contractor/civilian/military representatives utilizing clear and effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Provides input for consolidated Daily Status Reports (DSR) and Weekly Status Reports.

Project Management Tasks:  Ability to manage and prioritize tasks to ensure optimum productivity.

 

Minimum Education Requirements: 

  • Bachelors Degree in a relevant technical discipline, or 10 years relevant experience.

Required Certifications:

  • USG IT Level III; Cisco Certified Network Professional; Cisco, Windows and Linux certifications

 

U.S. Citizenship is required

 

Security Clearance:

Candidates must have an active clearance OR  the ability to obtain a US Government security clearance, and will be subject to a US security background investigation (i.e. favorable background investigation / credit score). Additional eligibility requirements for access to various levels of classified information may also be required. An active security clearance is highly desirable.
