Overview

We are currently seeking System Engineer to support the Navy Enterprise Architecture (EA) and Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) development efforts. The system engineer will support in modeling performance of new and developing systems and programs. 

Responsibilities

Essential Functions/Job Duties:

  • Develops models, architectural products, and digital artifacts for a system and/or System of Systems (SoS) in accordance with standards, best practices, policies, and procedures.
  • Applies modeling to support a system’s or SoS’ requirements, design, analysis, verification, and validation activities throughout the acquisition life-cycle phases.
  • Produces reports to support the management of MBSE/digital environment activities and decision making Manage/coordinate information and resources to meet digital thread-related objectives.
  • Implements a model-based culture, leveraging capabilities of the digital enterprise environment infrastructure of the organization.
  • Utilizes model data support to enable the creation of a digital thread across other engineering disciplines (e.g., cyber and configuration management).
  • Demonstrates familiarity with Model-Based Systems Engineering principles and knowledge of the Systems Modeling Language (SysML) or Unified Modeling Language (UML).
  • Demonstrates experience with cross-platform collaborative MBSE/digital environments or equivalent (e.g., MagicDraw/Cameo).
  • Demonstrates knowledge of the Department of Defense Architecture Framework/Unified Architecture Framework (DoDAF/UAF).

Equipment Used:

  • Personal Computer (PC) based systems and project related test equipment. 

Typical Working Conditions:

  • General office environment; Computer/Equipment lab 

Essential Physical Tasks:

  • Ability to lift 10 lbs. on an occasional basis.
  • Ability to use a personal computer, keyboard and mouse on a consistent basis.
  • Occasional International or domestic travel by automobile or airplane up to 25% of the time. 

Written Communications:

  • Operates standard computer based business tools (including but not limited to Microsoft Word and Excel) effectively.
  • Demonstrates excellent (Clear and concise) written communication skills in a technical format, that will support in the development of all required plans and reports, required of the program. 

Verbal Communications:

  • Active communicator - able to present technical briefs, giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate.
  • Ability to lead discussions pertaining to technical subject matter.

Qualifications

Skills/Qualifications:

  • Three (3) years of relevant experience

Customer Interface Activities:

  • Effective inter-personnel and customer service skills required to interface with corporate customers.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with the Customer, command staff, and peer contractor personnel.

Project Management / Staff Supervision Tasks:

  • Ability to manage and prioritize tasks to ensure optimum productivity.

Work Schedule:   

  • 9/80
  • The ability to work non-standard work hours and schedules in support of project requirements.
  • Long distance (>500 miles) travel to other US Government and Contractor facilities, as required.

Travel:

  • Less than 15%

Minimum Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Sciennce in EE, ME, IE, Physics, Information Systems, Information Technology, Operations Research, or other sciences where the utilization of advanced math skills is requierd (e.g. business, mathematics, statistics, and probability)  

Pay Range: $90,000.00 to $135,000.00 annually, DOE

 

U.S. Citizenship is required

 

Security Clearance:

Candidates must have an active clearance OR  the ability to obtain a US Government security clearance, and will be subject to a US security background investigation (i.e. favorable background investigation / credit score). Additional eligibility requirements for access to various levels of classified information may also be required. An active security clearance is highly desirable.
