We are currently seeking an Electronics Technician for hardware and maintenance support to provide system engineering with planning, start up, loading, performance and collection of computer systems. Ability to use technical documentation/manuals in the troubleshooting of equipment.
Essential Functions/Job Duties:
Provides system engineering and maintenance support for systems which include Navy Aegis systems, ATDL, ship/shore C4I systems, TDL test tools, combat system simulation (OASIS and NGS), CDLMS/Tech Refresh, Link-16 terminals/live RF, Data Link Gateway (DLGW) family of tools, Link Monitoring and Management Tool (LMMT), Air Defense Systems Integrator (ADSI), Network System Integration and Test Environment (NSITE), and the Multi-Link System Test and Training Tool (MLST3).
Maintains and sustains VAX main frame and MicroVAX computer systems to support multiple users and development programs. VAX system engineering includes Digital Command Language (DCL) operating systems associated, Virtual Memory System (VMS) operating on virtual equipment, system backups, cluster configuration, performance tuning, network configuration, and administration.
Ability to use technical documentation / manuals in the troubleshooting of the above equipment.
Configures and operates Navy ship/shore network systems.
Other duties as assigned.
Essential Physical Tasks: Ability to lift 10 lbs. on an occasional basis. Ability to use a personal computer, keyboard and mouse on a consistent basis. Potential domestic travel less than 10% of the time by automobile.
Written Communications: Operates standard computer based business tools (including but not limited to Microsoft Word and Excel) effectively. Proficient in the reading, writing and comprehension of technical documentation and manuals.
Verbal Communications:Demonstrates excellent clear and concise verbal communication skills.
Skills / Qualifications: 3 years of experience as a US Navy Electronic Technician, Fire Controlman or equivalent. Must have the aptitude and ability to conduct maintenance support for Military Systems such as Navy Aegis systems, SSDS, ATDL, ship/shore C4I systems, TDL test tools, combat system simulation (OASIS and NGS), CDLMS, Link-16 terminals/live RF, Data Link Gateway (DLGW) family of tools, Link Monitoring and Management Tool (LMMT), Air Defense Systems Integrator (ADSI), Network System Integration and Test Environment (NSITE), and the Multi-Link System Test and Training Tool (MLST3).
Requires a US Navy technical background to maintain systems such as, AN/UYK-43, OJ-663, OJ-451, OL-224, AN/UYQ 70 - CDLMS, USQ-69, OJ-194, MPRS, WSC-3, WSC-9, USC-38, JTIDS, MIDS, PSC-5D, PRC-117, and UYH-16. Experience with TD-127 is desired.
Customer Interface Activities: Interfaces with customer and other contractor/civilian/military representatives utilizing clear and effective written and oral communication skills. Provides input for periodic status reports.
Project Management Tasks: Ability to manage and prioritize tasks to ensure optimum productivity and report to management on project status and completion.
Work Schedule: STD/40 - The ability to work non-standard work hours and schedules in support of project requirements.

Minimum Education Requirements: High School diploma or GED.

Candidates must have an active clearance OR the ability to obtain a US Government security clearance, and will be subject to a US security background investigation (i.e. favorable background investigation / credit score). Additional eligibility requirements for access to various levels of classified information may also be required. An active security clearance is highly desirable.
