  • Overview

    We are currently seeking a BMDS C4I Requirements Engineer. You will support interoperability planning, assessment, and analysis efforts in support of current and future Aegis BMD baseline development and platform fielding. Examine the impact to the reliability and functionality of the communications systems that comprise the C4I component of the Aegis BMD System and ship-shore interface. Identify allocated and functional Aegis BMD C4I performance requirements. Derive/Develop performance requirements for the C4I baselines or integrated systems-of-systems that support platform requirements on Aegis BMD platforms afloat and ashore. Verify traceability of allocated and derived requirements to PEO C4I PoRs.

    Responsibilities

    Essential Functions/Job Duties: 

    Support interoperability planning, assessment, and analysis efforts in support of current and future Aegis BMD baseline development and platform fielding.

    Examine the impact to the reliability and functionality of the communications systems that comprise the C4I component of the Aegis BMD System and ship-shore interface.

    Identify allocated and functional Aegis BMD C4I performance requirements. Derive/Develop performance requirements for the C4I baselines or integrated systems-of-systems that support platform requirements on Aegis BMD platforms afloat and ashore. Verify traceability of allocated and derived requirements to PEO C4I PoRs.

    Establish and define validation criteria to assess performance (i.e. Probability of Communications Support (Pcs)) and potential impact to the Aegis Weapon System (AWS) as a result of modifications to Aegis BMD C4I elements.

    Assess changes to C4I program elements (i.e. Engineering Change Requests (ECRs)) and validate new configurations and capabilities in support of Aegis BMD baselines. Provide feedback to the Platform Technical Review Board (PTRB), Configuration Control Board (CCB), or appropriate PMW change review board as required.

     

    Written Communications: Operates standard computer based business tools (including but not limited to Microsoft Word and Excel) effectively. Develop technical documentation and presentations detailing Aegis BMD C4I requirements, performance analysis, and systems engineering design and development modifications. Provide detailed written after action reports, meeting minutes, and/or captured action items to the customer, and other contractor/civilian/military representatives as required.

     

     

    Verbal Communications: Demonstrates excellent clear and concise verbal communication skills. Participate in meetings, briefings and teleconferences with customer and other contractor/civilian/military representatives.Represent the customer at meetings, briefings and teleconferences, and state known positions as directed to other representing stakeholders, as required.

     

    Qualifications

    Skills / Qualifications: 5 years relevant experience.

    Experience in the acquisition, integration, engineering processes and program management of PEO C4I PoRs.

    Experience in requirements analysis, developing test configurations, test procedures and test cases to satisfy and verify the identified requirements.

    Knowledge of Tactical Data Links (TDLs) and Navy communications systems and architectures.

     

    Customer Interface Activities:  Liaison across PEO C4I, MDA, and COMNIWCSYCOM Enterprise technical groups, engineering codes, laboratories, and Fleet representatives. Interface with customer and other contractor/civilian/military representatives utilizing clear and effective written and oral communication skills. Provide input for consolidated Daily Status Reports (DSRDSRnd Weekly Activity Reports (WAR). Participate in preprest-mission meetings and teleconferences with customer and other contractor/civilian/military representative.

     

    Project Management Tasks:  Ability to manage and prioritize tasks to ensure optimum productivity.

     

    Work Schedule:    STND 40

     

    Minimum Education Requirements:  B.S. in technical discipline (SE, EE,EEE, IE) is required.

     

    Required Certifications:  USG IT Level 1

     

    U.S. Citizenship is required

     

    Security Clearance:

     

    Candidates must have an active clearance OR  the ability to obtain a US Government security clearance, and will be subject to a US security background investigation (i.e. favorable background investigation / credit score). Additional eligibility requirements for access to various levels of classified information may also be required. An active security clearance is highly desirable.
