  • Overview

     We are currently seeking a Junior Software Developer/Engineer to design and develop assigned software elements using top level requirements in collaboration with the Government customer to provide software engineering and technical support services to H50 in support of software intensive tactical weapons control or strike systems in compliance with Navy Open Architecture (NOA) requirements. Perform research related to and execute conversion of software models into web-based services.

    Responsibilities

    Essential Functions/Job Duties:

     

    Design and develop assigned software elements using top level requirements in collaboration with the Government customer to provide software engineering and technical support services to H50 in support of software intensive tactical weapons control or strike systems in compliance with Navy Open Architecture (NOA) requirements.

    Monitor and evaluate software performance characteristics during the software development and test phases to ensure the orderly and efficient growth and refinement of the software capabilities, e.g. measurement of computer processor time usage, Random Access Memory (RAM) usage, disk space usage, and network loading/throughput during maximum CSCI loading conditions.
    Perform analysis of tools to aid in software development (e.g. memory checking tool, test automation tools, code coverage tools).

    Perform testing of COTS hardware replacements for systems and software impacts.

    Perform research related to and execute conversion of software models into web-based services.

    Make modifications to existing databases and assist with migration of databases to a new database management system (e.g. Oracle).

    Generate and provide software design description documentation.

     

    Equipment Used: Computer and keyboard/mouse and other typical office processing equipment.

     

     

    Typical Working Conditions: General office and lab work environment

     

     

    Written Communications: Responsible for error free written reports and briefing.

     

     

    Verbal Communications: Must be able to clearly and adequately communicate needs and requirements to internal staff, clients and Program Managers in order to adequately form and respond to tasks assigned.

     

    Qualifications

     Skills/Qualifications: College degree required

     

     

    Customer Interface Activities: Interfacing directly with stakeholders including and other industry partners and customers as needed in the execution essential Functions and duties.

     

    Work Schedule:    STD/40  Must be able to adjust to changing company, contract, or client response time-line and schedule requests.

     


    Minimum Education Requirements:
    BS degree in Computer Science, EE, ME, IE, Physics required

     

     

    U.S. Citizenship is required

     

    Security Clearance:

     

    Candidates must have an active clearance OR  the ability to obtain a US Government security clearance, and will be subject to a US security background investigation (i.e. favorable background investigation / credit score). Additional eligibility requirements for access to various levels of classified information may also be required. An active security clearance is highly desirable.
