We are currently seeking a candidate with the experience necessary to design, develop and maintain complex, real time Combat System (CS) wrap around simulations. This project directly supports the Naval Surface Weapons Center Dahlgren Division, (NSWCDD) Dahlgren VA. Candidate will be responsible for providing systems software development support to the Combat Systems Simulation Development (CSSD) team.
Essential Functions/Job Duties:
As part of the software development process, this individual will be required to provide research, design, programming and test of CS Simulation Systems including the Common Connectivity Device (CCD), Aegis Simulation Test and Training Systems (A-STATS), Next Generation Simulation (NGS), Universal Message Generator (UMG), and Multiple Link System Test Training Tool (MLST3).
Utilize software development tracking tools that capture all new development requirements, track software defects, and update implementation status of each item.
Maintain and deliver build plans and schedules for Simulation Systems. Assist in build process control and tracks releases to the customer.
Assist in designing, coding and benchmark testing, debugging and documenting of programs. Must have the ability to work independently from specifications to develop and modify software applications.
Written Communications: Operates standard computer based business tools (including but not limited to Microsoft Word and Excel) effectively. Properly documents Coded and Development actions according to set procedures. Reviews, assesses, and provides feedback on software development. Reviews and makes recommendations for new software programs.
Verbal Communications: Demonstrates excellent clear and concise verbal communication skills.
Ability to communicate to wide variety of audiences including tactical, technical, and programmatic.
The candidate should have strong communication skills, with the ability to deftly convey concepts to all levels of technical audience.
Skills/Qualifications: Two (2) years general combat system experience and Two (2) years’ experience in programming C+, & C++. Proficient in the use of various programming languages to include C, C++, Java, .NET.
Customer Interface Activities: Excellent communications skills which build and maintain relationships with new or existing customers for the scheduling activities required. Works on government site, interfaces daily with government and DOD personnel. Works directly with government customer and prime contractor in day-to-day operations.

Travel Less than 15% of travel required.
Minimum Education Requirements: High School diploma or GED. Bachelors Degree desired
U.S. Citizenship is required
Candidates must have an active clearance OR the ability to obtain a US Government security clearance, and will be subject to a US security background investigation (i.e. favorable background investigation / credit score). Additional eligibility requirements for access to various levels of classified information may also be required. An active security clearance is highly desirable.
