We are currently seeking an Aegis Senior Engineer to perform systems engineering and coordination activities to support the design and development of Combat, Laboratory and C4I systems ensuring system-wide integration of hardware, software, reliability, maintainability, safety and other requirements in the total engineering effort for Combined Test Bed / BMD clients. Coordinating tasked projects to execute system integration, engineering and testing plans.
Essential Functions/Job Duties:
Performing systems engineering and coordination activities to support the design and development of Combat, Laboratory and C4I systems ensuring system-wide integration of hardware, software, reliability, maintainability, safety and other requirements in the total engineering effort for Combined Test Bed / BMD clients.
Coordinating tasked projects to execute system integration, engineering and testing plans.
Project duties involve applying advanced level Aegis system engineering for test event preparation, equipment configuration, and system test architecture verification of the Aegis Combat / Weapon System and ancillary simulation systems, ensuring the preparedness of the these configurations to support Aegis BMD engineering, analysis, and testing of various system requirements.
Working and coordinating with company program management personnel to ensure the team is resourced appropriately and provides high quality, timely and technically independent support to projects and programs that satisfy customer requirements.
Independently develops detailed hardware and system test architectures to accurately test and assess BMD System performance in a distributive test environment.
Lead customer technical initiatives and develop a team of systems engineers, test directors and analysts to apply best practices and lessons learned across the companies programs.
Equipment Used: Computer and keyboard/mouse and other typical office processing equipment.
Typical Working Conditions: General office and lab work environment
Essential Physical Tasks: Ability to use a computer, keyboard and mouse on a consistent basis. Ability to lift up to 10 lbs. on an occasional basis.
Written Communications: Responsible for error free written reports and briefing.
Verbal Communications: Must be able to clearly and adequately communicate needs and requirements to internal staff, clients and Program Managers in order to adequately form and respond to tasks assigned.
Skills / Qualifications: B.S. in Electrical Engineering or comparable science degree. 8+ years of systems engineering leadership to include supervision and direction of engineers.
8+ years of C4I and Combat System installation, integration, maintenance, and test and evaluation.
Demonstrated advanced knowledge of modern systems engineering, integration and testing of complex systems, management and leadership of engineering project teams.
Demonstrated experience working with hardware and software development teams.
Demonstrated expert experience with specification, requirements definition, documentation, verification, test, integration, and deployment phases of C4I and Combat System projects.
Customer Interface Activities: Interfacing directly with stakeholders including SSC San Diego Combined Test Bed, Ballistic Missile Defense Test Bed and other industry partners and customers as needed in the execution essential Functions and duties.
Project Management / Staff Supervision Tasks: Foster a mutually respectful work environment that is free from discrimination and harassment.
Minimum Education Requirements: B.S. in Electrical Engineering or comparable science degree. MS desired
U.S. Citizenship is required
Candidates must have an active clearance OR the ability to obtain a US Government security clearance, and will be subject to a US security background investigation (i.e. favorable background investigation / credit score). Additional eligibility requirements for access to various levels of classified information may also be required. An active security clearance is highly desirable.
