  • Overview

    We are currently seeking a candidate directly supports the Naval Surface Weapons Center Dahlgren Division, (NSWCDD) Dahlgren VA. Center for Surface Combat Systems (CSCS). Candidate will be responsible for providing  engineering specialist support to the Engineering and Activation Services (EAS) team for the installation and activation of land based laboratories.  


    Essential Functions/Job Duties:

    Supporting installation and activation of the lab, to include the following:

    Independently installing and configuring Computer and Network Systems

    Integrating Combat System Equipment for Aegis Weapons System (AWS) into the Land Based Test Site

    Configuring and integrating the software and networking for AWS Consoles into the AWS

    Provides technical comments and inputs to Configuration Definition Documents

    Ability to independently provide operational support for post-activation trouble report resolution activities without supervision.

    Assisting in development of site modernization plans

    Participating in formal and informal system Engineering Design Reviews

    Assisting in the identification and procurement of installation materials, which include cables, computer equipment, and associated hardware.


    Written and Verbal Communications: Effective written and verbal communication skills in the English language. Solid writing skills and the ability to develop technical reports and Standard Operating Procedures. Provides required weekly and monthly written status reports to Project Manager.

    Attends meetings in which responsible for presenting material and giving briefs to wide government audience.


    Skills / Qualifications: 2 years experience of general in Navy combat system engineering to include:

    AEGIS Weapons Systems (AWS) Baselines, Combat System Components to include AN/TPX-42 IFF, AN/UPX-29 IFF, WSN-7, and Global Positioning System.
    Experience in engineering design,development, and testing of Navy combat weapon systems. A combat system includes the sensor, weapons, control, communication, and support system for prosecuting the full spectrum of activities required to detect, track, identify, engage and kill hostile targets in multi-warfare environments.


    Customer Interface Activities: Directly interfaces with the government customer on CSCS Laboratory topics. Directly interfaces and coordinates with various government organizations in executing duties as the EAS specialist. 


    Project Management / Staff Supervision Tasks: Ability to generate and independently execute test procedures without supervision. Ability to independently perform analysis of test results, producing final test reports without supervision.


    Work Schedule:  Regular attendance to be performed on company premises or US government facilities during regular business hours.  The ability to work non-standard work hours and schedules in support of project requirements.


    Minimum Education Requirements: High School; BS desired in a relevant technical discipline


    U.S. Citizenship is required


    Security Clearance:

    Candidates must have an active clearance OR  the ability to obtain a US Government security clearance, and will be subject to a US security background investigation (i.e. favorable background investigation / credit score). Additional eligibility requirements for access to various levels of classified information may also be required. An active security clearance is highly desirable.
