    Overview

     We are currently seeking a Technical Manager - Network Engineer to execute Management functions across various clients and funding vehicles as required/assigned by Executive Management. This includes the successful management of various client and subcontractor relationships. Provide Executive Management with Department Status briefings. Develop existing staff capabilities, perform hiring and staff management functions in accordance with company guidance and policy. Provide guidance to team members and monitor their performance, discipline and attendance on a regular basis.

    Responsibilities

    Essential Functions/Job Duties: Develop existing staff capabilities, perform hiring and staff management functions in accordance with company guidance and policy. Provide guidance to team members and monitor their performance,
    discipline and attendance on a regular basis.

    • Guide and assist team members in project initiation/kick-off discussions to define scope, schedule, and
    cost using appropriate techniques. Perform risk management to minimize project risks.

    • Technical background with understanding and/or hands-on experience in Test and Evaluation (T&E),
    and Network Engineering with knowledge of associate DoD policies, procedures, and processes required
    for proper implementation of project plans and milestones.

    • Provides intermediate to advanced network engineering to include design, development, and
    maintenance of Advanced Tactical Data Link (ATDL) networks.
    • Develop white papers and plans/reports to document the current network design
    • Apply engineering principles to define, develop, optimize and trouble-shoot network architectures.
    • Knowledge of the interoperability relationships between the operational, technical and acquisition
    communities across Navy, Joint and Allied ATDL networks.

     

    Equipment Used: Laptop Computer and peripheral equipment

     

     

    Typical Working Conditions: General office environment with USG provided NMCI Computer and peripheral equipment

     

     

    Essential Physical Tasks: Ability to lift 10 lbs. on an occasional basis. Possibility of Domestic travel up to 10% of the time by automobile, air, etc.  Ability to use a personal computer, keyboard and mouse on a consistent basis.

     

     

    Written Communications: Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office. Clear translation of thoughts into technical reports. plans and correspondences in methods acceptable to industry standards.

     

     

    Verbal Communications: Demonstrates excellent clear and concise verbal communication skills.

     

    Qualifications

    Skills / Qualifications: 15-20 years of experience with IP routing and protocols.

    Knowledge of hardware and software development in Network Communication and TCP/IP.

    Desire experience in Advance Tactical Data Link (ATDL) systems and Software Defined Radios (SDR).

     

    Customer Interface Activities: Uses independent discretion to develop an effective client to customer communication process involving stakeholder identification, planned communication, efficient information distribution, and managing expectations.

     

    Project Management / Staff Supervision Tasks:  Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills. Develop processes and plans for staff technical and professional capabilities growth. Assign project leads and work with subordinates to formulate team composition.

     

    Travel:  10%

     


    Minimum Education Requirements: 
    High School diploma or GED.  Technical degree desired or minimum of 15 years experience if non-degreed.

     

     

    U.S. Citizenship is required

     

    Security Clearance:

     

    Candidates must have an active clearance OR  the ability to obtain a US Government security clearance, and will be subject to a US security background investigation (i.e. favorable background investigation / credit score). Additional eligibility requirements for access to various levels of classified information may also be required. An active security clearance is highly desirable.
