    Overview

    We are seeking a BMD Tactical Data Link and Aegis Systems Test Specialist to provide senior level system expertise of the Aegis BMD system for the testing of the Aegis BMD system during live and simulated missions in the SSC PAC Combined Test Bed (CTB) San Diego laboratory. Act as the TDL Test Director for various BMD Ground & Flight Test missions, and ensure operational readiness of TDL systems. Plans and directs the use of Combined Test Bed C4I systems/assets in support of test events. Develops and maintains test scenarios and system architectures for application in a distributive test environment. Documents, reports, and resolves TDL and C4I system test case anomalies, system problems and root cause analysis.

     

     

    Responsibilities

    Essential Functions/Job Duties:

    Provide senior level system expertise of the Aegis BMD system for the testing of the Aegis BMD system during live and simulated missions in the SSC PAC Combined Test Bed (CTB) San Diego laboratory.
    Act as the TDL Test Director for various BMD Ground & Flight Test missions, and ensure operational readiness of TDL systems.
    Plans and directs the use of Combined Test Bed C4I systems/assets in support of test events.
    Develops and maintains test scenarios and system architectures for application in a distributive test environment.
    Documents, reports, and resolves TDL and C4I system test case anomalies, system problems and root cause analysis.
    Uses experience and independent judgment to plan and accomplish assigned tasks and to identify test and analysis process improvement procedures.
    Assesses the communications and Multi-TDL system architecture performance to support the potential corrective actions or resolutions required.
    Provides complex system problem isolation/detection and resolution of shipboard Tactical Data Link systems including CDLMS, LMMT, TADIL J Gateway and host simulators, Air Defense System Integrator (ADSI), and JTIDS/MIDS radio equipment during Interoperability testing/assessment of the AEGIS Combat System components.

     

    Equipment Used: Generic PC Workstations, CDLMS, ADSI, DLGW, NSITE, TJHS, Aegis Weapon System, LMMT, TDACS, SLINKI, various electronic peripherals.

     

     

    Typical Working Conditions:  General office environment; Computer/Equipment lab; US Naval Ship (Non-Hostile)

     

     

    Essential Physical Tasks: Potential domestic travel 10% of the time by automobile, air, etc. Possibility of occasional international travel and travel on Navy ships. Ability to lift 10 lbs. on an occasional basis. Ability to use a personal computer, keyboard and mouse on a consistent basis.

     

     

    Written Communications: Clearly defines, describes, and lists steps and processes required to accurately verify specific A3C4I system performance requirements (i.e. generate detailed test plans and procedures).
    Operates standard computer based business tools (including but not limited to Microsoft Word and Excel) effectively.

     

     

    Verbal Communications:  Participates in pre/post-mission meetings and teleconferences with customer and other contractor/civilian/military representatives.
    Demonstrates excellent clear and concise verbal communication skills.

     

    Qualifications

    Skills / Qualifications: 8 years of experience with Tactical Data Links, Naval Combat Systems, Test and Evaluation, and Tactical Data Links (Link 16, JREAP, Satellite TDL J).
    Operator experience in the U.S. Navy is preferred.
    In depth technical knowledge and experience with Tactical Data Link systems, specifically Next Generation C2P and JTIDS radio shipboard equipment is preferred.
    Technical knowledge and experience with Aegis Combat System and associated communications equipment is preferred.
    In depth knowledge and experience using MIL-STD 6016, DoD Interface Standards, Operational Specifications, and TDL-J Message Standards is preferred.

     

    Customer Interface Activities:  Interfaces with customers and other contractor/civilian/military representatives utilizing clear and effective written and oral communication skills. Provides input for consolidated BMD event Daily Status Reports (DSR). Participates in pre/post-mission meetings and teleconferences with customer and other contractor/civilian/military representative.

     

    Project Management Tasks: Ability to establish priorities, operate independently, and execute tasking with limited to no supervision. Ability to complete all tasks in a timely manner within established time frames, and to manage and prioritize tasks to ensure optimum productivity.

     

    Work Schedule: The ability to work non-standard work hours and schedules in support of project requirements.

     

    Travel %: Potential domestic travel 10% of the time by automobile, air, etc.  Possibility of occasional international travel and travel on Navy ships. 


    Minimum Education Requirements: 
    High School diploma or GED.    B.S. or Associates Degree desired in a relevant technical discipline.

     

     

    U.S. Citizenship is required

     

    Security Clearance:

     

    Candidates must have an active clearance OR  the ability to obtain a US Government security clearance, and will be subject to a US security background investigation (i.e. favorable background investigation / credit score). Additional eligibility requirements for access to various levels of classified information may also be required. An active security clearance is highly desirable.
