    Overview

     We are currently seeking a Senior Network Architect who will provide intermediate to advanced network engineering to include design, development, and
    maintenance of Information Technology (IT) infrastructures. Create and maintain network engineering documentation, including detailed IP address schema, testing
    procedures, maintenance process, training manuals, and network design white papers (e.g. network
    parameters, performance expectations, Quality of Service, etc).

    Responsibilities

    Essential Functions/Job Duties:

    Provides intermediate to advanced network engineering to include design, development, and
    maintenance of Information Technology (IT) infrastructures.
    • Develop documentation and illustrations to document the current network design
    • Capable of configuring a Layer 2/3 switch from a non configured state.
    • Independently maintains configuration, management, and optimizing of routing protocols (e.g. OSPF,
    EIGRP, RIP, etc)
    • Capable of configuring Network Services - NAT, DHCP, DNS, and VPN
    • Utilize network monitoring tools to analyze network performance, usage (Quality of Service), traffic
    flows, data rates/latency, and interfaces.

    • Knowledgeable of computer hardware/software and peripherals to include installation of hardware
    components and software.

    • Create and maintain network engineering documentation, including detailed IP address schema, testing
    procedures, maintenance process, training manuals, and network design white papers (e.g. network
    parameters, performance expectations, Quality of Service, etc). Creates and/or evaluates network
    design, assess network performance, and interfaces with technical support personnel and engineering
    technicians as required.

     

     

    Equipment Used: Laptop Computer and peripheral equipment

     

     

    Typical Working Conditions: General office environment with USG provided NMCI Computer and peripheral equipment

     

     

    Essential Physical Tasks: Ability to lift 10 lbs. on an occasional basis.
     Possibility of Domestic and International travel up to 10% of the time by automobile, air, etc.
     Ability to use a personal computer, keyboard and mouse on a consistent basis.

     

     

    Written Communications: Operates standard computer based business tools (including but not limited to Microsoft Word and
    Excel) effectively with a high degree of competency. Independently generates documentation that presents information in a logical manner

     

     

    Verbal Communications: Demonstrates excellent clear and concise verbal communication skills.

     

    Qualifications

     Skills/Qualifications:

    11 years of experience in computer system networking and OSI layer protocols used in commercial and/or
    military communications systems.
    Capable of configuring IP Multicast, PIM Dense/Sparse Mode

    Experience using Simple Network Protocol (SNMP) and its seven (7) protocol data units:
    GetRequest, SetRequest, GetNextRequest, GetBulkRequest, Response, Trap, and InformRequest

     

     

    Customer Interface Activities: Uses independent discretion to develop an effective client to customer communication process involving
    stakeholder identification, planned communication, efficient information distribution, and managing
    expectations.

     

     

    Work Schedule:   9/80   Able to efficiently adapt to new priorities. This includes effectively multitasking project responsibilities
    with an awareness to support changes as needed. The ability to work non-standard work hours and schedules in support of project requirements. 

     

    Travel:   10%  


    Minimum Education Requirements:
    High School diploma or GED.  Bachelors Degree in an Engineering, Computer Science or related scientific or technical discipline preferred

     

     

    Required Certifications:  Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)

     

    U.S. Citizenship is required

     

    Security Clearance:

     

    Candidates must have an active clearance OR  the ability to obtain a US Government security clearance, and will be subject to a US security background investigation (i.e. favorable background investigation / credit score). Additional eligibility requirements for access to various levels of classified information may also be required. An active security clearance is highly desirable.
