    Overview

     We are currently seeking a Junior System Administrator to assist with the establishment and implementation of solutions that are within Government security guidelines and maintains network infrastructure and processes that ensure network architectures that are able to be accredited for Government wide area network usage.

    Perform system administration functions to ensure availability of the simulation systems as appropriate and required for each supported facility.

    Assist with the reception, distribution, installation, configuration and maintenance of operating systems across Windows and Linux platforms, simulation systems, application computer programs, and user accounts on the simulation systems as appropriate.

     

    Responsibilities

    Essential Functions/Job Duties: Assists with the implementation and maintenance of complex computer system network administration activities. 

    Assists with the establishment and implementation of solutions that are within Government security guidelines and maintains network infrastructure and processes that ensure network architectures that are able to be accredited for Government wide area network usage.

    Performs system administration functions to ensure availability of the simulation systems as appropriate and required for each supported facility.

    Assists with the reception, distribution, installation, configuration and maintenance of operating systems across Windows and Linux platforms, simulation systems, application computer programs, and user accounts on the simulation systems as appropriate.

     

     

    Equipment Used: Standard computer equipment and Naval Combat Systems, Simulation Stimulation (SIM/STIM) systems.

     

     

    Typical Working Conditions: Standard computer equipment and Naval Combat Systems, Simulation Stimulation (SIM/STIM) systems.

     

     

    Essential Physical Tasks: Ability to lift 10 lbs. on an occasional basis. Potential domestic and/or international travel 10% of the time by automobile, air, etc.
    Ability to use a personal computer, keyboard and mouse on a consistent basis.

     

     

    Written Communications: Demonstrates excellent (clear and concise) written communication skills in a technical format, that will support in the development of all required plans and reports required of the program.  

     

     

    Verbal Communications: Demonstrates excellent clear and concise verbal communication skills.

     

    Qualifications

     Skills/Qualifications: Two years experience implementing and maintaining complex computer system network administration activities.
    Experience in Microsoft Windows and LINUX operating systems.
    Experience implementing and follow processes that are within Government security guidelines.

     

     

    Customer Interface Activities: Suitable inter-personnel and customer service skills required to interface with corporate customers.
    Ability to effectively communicate with the Customer and peer contractor personnel.

     

     

    Project Management: Ability to establish priorities, operate independently, and execute tasking with limited to no supervision.

     

     

    Work Schedule:    STD/40 The ability to work non-standard work hours and schedules in support of project requirements.
    Willingness to work on site or off site to accomplish the assigned tasks. Ability to work at multiple locations during normal working hours.

     

    Travel: 10 % 


    Minimum Education Requirements:
    High School diploma or GED

     

     

    Required Certifications: IAT Level I qualified as established in the DoD 8570.01-M or successor and follow-on guidance

     

    U.S. Citizenship is required

     

    Security Clearance:

     

    Candidates must have an active clearance OR  the ability to obtain a US Government security clearance, and will be subject to a US security background investigation (i.e. favorable background investigation / credit score). Additional eligibility requirements for access to various levels of classified information may also be required. An active security clearance is highly desirable.
