    Overview

     We are currently seeking a Configuration Management Specialist who provides and maintains configuration management records and audits of the specified simulation computer equipment and configurations across multiple sites. This includes, equipment, operating systems, application programs, support configuration files, IA documentation, hardware components, spare parts and consumable inventories, installation and site interconnection diagrams and all other applicable documentation and records required to ensure a high level of availability of the simulation systems with the supported facilities. 

    Responsibilities

    Essential Functions/Job Duties:

    Independently provides Configuration and Data Management, Data Quality Assurance and Quality
    and/or Inventory Control.

    Provides and maintains configuration management records and audits of the specified simulation computer equipment and configurations across multiple sites. This includes, equipment, operating systems, application programs, support configuration files, IA documentation, hardware components, spare parts and consumable inventories, installation and site interconnection diagrams and all other applicable documentation and records required to ensure a high level of availability of the simulation systems with the supported facilities.

    Proficient in configuration management related tools, and experience using Microsoft Office’s product suite. Familiarity with standards and best practices for the Configuration Management discipline.

    Provides ongoing coordination with with project managers, simulation system developers, and peers.

    Develops procedures and systems engineering Life-Cycle support documentation. Participates in configuration management review boards and meetings.

     

     

    Equipment Used: Standard computer equipment and Naval Combat Systems, Simulation Stimulation (SIM/STIM) systems.

     

     

    Typical Working Conditions: General office environment; Computer/Equipment lab 

     

     

    Essential Physical Tasks: Ability to lift 10 lbs. on an occasional basis. Potential domestic and/or international travel 10% of the time by automobile, air, etc.
    Ability to use a personal computer, keyboard and mouse on a consistent basis.

     

     

    Written Communications: Demonstrated analytical, verbal and written skills necessary to provide and maintain configuration management records and audits of the specified simulation computer equipment and configurations across multiple sites.

     

     

    Verbal Communications: Demonstrates excellent clear and concise verbal communication skills.

     

    Qualifications

     Skills/Qualifications:

    Two years experience in Configuration and Data Management, Data Quality Assurance and Quality Control or Inventory Control.

    Experience in writing procedures and preparing systems engineering Life-Cycle support documentation.

    Familiarity with standards and best practices for the Configuration Management disciplines.

     

     

    Customer Interface Activities: Suitable inter-personnel and customer service skills required to interface with corporate customers.
    Ability to effectively communicate with the Customer, SSC-Pacific Center's staff, and peer contractor personnel.

     

     

    Project Management: Ability to establish priorities, operate independently, and execute tasking with limited to no supervision.

     

     

    Work Schedule:    STD/40 The ability to work non-standard work hours and schedules in support of project requirements.
    Willingness to work on site or off site to accomplish the assigned tasks.
    Ability to work at multiple locations during normal working hours.

     

    Travel: 10 %  


    Minimum Education Requirements: 
    High School diploma or GED

     

     

     

    U.S. Citizenship is required

     

    Security Clearance:

     

    Candidates must have an active clearance OR  the ability to obtain a US Government security clearance, and will be subject to a US security background investigation (i.e. favorable background investigation / credit score). Additional eligibility requirements for access to various levels of classified information may also be required. An active security clearance is highly desirable.
