We are currently seeking a Data Link Analyst to support advanced tactical data link engineering and analysis. Experience with tactical data link communications standards and protocols including Link-11, Link-16, Satellite TDL J (STJ), Joint Range Extension (JRE), Link-22 and variants thereof. Assist in identifying interoperability requirements and testing methodologies to ensure all modeling and simulation tools maintain interoperability standards. Provide troubleshooting and isolation of hardware and software issues. Provides issue resolution/s for both tactical and simulation subsystems across the distributed test environment and implements identified simulation solutions.
Essential Functions/Job Duties:
Supports advanced tactical data link engineering and analysis. Experience with tactical data link communications standards and protocols including Link-11, Link-16, Satellite TDL J (STJ), Joint Range Extension (JRE), Link-22 and variants thereof.
Assists in identifying interoperability requirements and testing methodologies to ensure all modeling and simulation tools maintain interoperability standards.
Provides troubleshooting and isolation of hardware and software issues. Provides issue resolution/s for both tactical and simulation subsystems across the distributed test environment and implements identified simulation solutions.
Provides tactical data link test support on current and future combat systems, such as Aegis, Aegis Ballistic Missile Defense (ABMD), Ship Self Defense System (SSDS), Littoral Combat Ship (LCS), United States Coast Guard (USCG), Offshore Patrol Cutter (OPC), DDG 1000, Guide Missile Frigate (FFG) and their associated sensor, command and control, weapon and communications interfaces.
Experience providing specialized knowledge of data link operations associated with real-time
modeling and simulation systems and combat systems, including Next Generation Simulation (NGS), Common Connectivity Device (CCD), Universal Message Generator (UMG), and Multiple Link System Test Training Tool (MLST3).
Equipment Used: Standard computer equipment and Naval Combat Systems, Simulation Stimulation (SIM/STIM) systems.
Typical Working Conditions: General office environment; Computer/Equipment lab
Essential Physical Tasks: Ability to lift 10 lbs. on an occasional basis. Potential domestic and/or international travel 10% of the time by automobile, air, etc.
Ability to use a personal computer, keyboard and mouse on a consistent basis.
Written Communications: Demonstrates excellent (clear and concise) written communication skills in a technical format, that will support in the development of all required plans and reports required of the program.
Verbal Communications: Demonstrates excellent clear and concise verbal communication skills.
Skills/Qualifications: Four years general combat system experience.
Experience conducting advance tactical data link engineering and analysis.
Experience troubleshooting and isolation of hardware and software issues and a broad knowledge of the tactical data links discipline.
Customer Interface Activities: Suitable inter-personnel and customer service skills required to interface with corporate customers.
Ability to effectively communicate with the Customer and peer contractor personnel.
Project Management / Staff Supervision Tasks: Ability to establish priorities, operate independently, and execute tasking with limited to no supervision.
Work Schedule: STD/40 The ability to work non-standard work hours and schedules in support of project requirements.
Willingness to work on site or off site to accomplish the assigned tasks.
Ability to work at multiple locations during normal working hours.
Travel: 10 %
Minimum Education Requirements: High School diploma of GED
U.S. Citizenship is required
Candidates must have an active clearance OR the ability to obtain a US Government security clearance, and will be subject to a US security background investigation (i.e. favorable background investigation / credit score). Additional eligibility requirements for access to various levels of classified information may also be required. An active security clearance is highly desirable.
