We are currently seeking a Senior System Administrator who will be responsible to establish and implement solutions that are within Government security guidelines and maintain network infrastructure and processes that ensure network architectures that are able to be accredited for Government wide area network usage. Perform system administration functions to ensure availability of the simulation systems as appropriate and required for each supported facility. Collaborate with the Government and other Contractor personnel to coordinate system administration activities on the installed simulation systems in accordance with priorities and objectives for each supported facility.
Essential Functions/Job Duties:
Provides Subject Matter Expertise (SME) in the implementation and maintenance of complex computer system network administration activities.
Establishes and implements solutions that are within Government security guidelines and maintains network infrastructure and processes that ensure network architectures that are able to be accredited for Government wide area network usage.
Performs system administration functions to ensure availability of the simulation systems as appropriate and required for each supported facility.
Collaborates with the Government and other Contractor personnel to coordinate system administration activities on the installed simulation systems in accordance with priorities and objectives for each supported facility.
Receives, distributes, installs, configures and maintains operating systems across Windows and Linux platforms, simulation systems, application computer programs, and user accounts on the simulation systems as appropriate.
Performs simulation system operation, system installation/configuration, and application system backups and restore for each simulation system as appropriate and required within each supported facility.
Equipment Used: Standard computer equipment and Naval Combat Systems, Simulation Stimulation (SIM/STIM) systems.
Typical Working Conditions: General office environment; Computer/Equipment lab
Essential Physical Tasks: Ability to lift 10 lbs. on an occasional basis.
Possibility of Domestic and International travel up to 10% of the time by automobile, air, etc. Ability to use a personal computer, keyboard and mouse on a consistent basis.
Written Communications: Operates standard computer based business tools (including but not limited to Microsoft Word and
Excel) effectively with a high degree of competency.
Independently generates documentation that presents information in a logical manner.
Verbal Communications: Demonstrates excellent clear and concise verbal communication skills.
6 years general experience
8 years specific experience in Microsoft Windows operating systems, LINUX operations systems, computer security program administration.
Customer Interface Activities: Uses independent discretion to develop an effective client to customer communication process involving
stakeholder identification, planned communication, efficient information distribution, and managing
Work Schedule: Std 40 The ability to work non-standard work hours and schedules in support of project requirements.
Travel: 10 %
Minimum Education Requirements: High School diploma or GED
Required Certifications: IAT Level II qualified as established in the DoD 8570.01-M or successor and follow on guidance
U.S. Citizenship is required
Candidates must have an active clearance OR the ability to obtain a US Government security clearance, and will be subject to a US security background investigation (i.e. favorable background investigation / credit score). Additional eligibility requirements for access to various levels of classified information may also be required. An active security clearance is highly desirable.
