The Senior Software Developer will serve as a consultant and software developer to our client and the company for the Command and Control (C2P) software modernization effort. This effort will require the Senior Software Developer to work closely with the client to design, build and maintain software, develop software infrastructure and development environments, and transition older products and capabilities to the new architectures.
Essential Functions/Job Duties:
Perform analysis of existing and emerging Operational and Functional requirements to support the current and future systems capabilities and requirements.
Identifying System Boundaries and Constraints and develop System Architectures. Review and provide inputs to technical documents to include Interface and System design.
Perform Software Development using Object Oriented and C++ programming languages to implement system requirements
Perform schedule planning and program management tasks as required.
Perform Risk Analysis for implementation of program requirements
Perform requirements analysis and modeling (RAM) techniques
Defining low level requirements from high level functional requirements
Assist in the development of requirements documents
Manage software development for the Common Host Interface elements of the modernization effort
Collaborates with GVT Software Development Leads to determine programming objectives.
Develops code that supports the objectives and requirements to provide optimal functionality.
Edit and improve upon code in existing software programs and applications.
Ensure code is error-free, readable, efficient, and logically organized for ease of access.
Operate debugging software and seek out root cause of error in coding sequences.
Create, manage, and maintain coding databases.
Equipment Used: CLIP, C2P, Test and Development Tools, Computer, Keyboard, Mouse. Microsoft Office tools
Typical Working Conditions: General office environment; Computer/Equipment lab; US Naval Ship (Non-Hostile)
Essential Physical Tasks: Ability to lift 10 lbs. on an occasional basis. Potential domestic travel 10% of the time by automobile, air, etc. Ability to use a personal computer, keyboard and mouse on a consistent basis.
Written Communications: Operates standard computer based business tools (including but not limited to Microsoft Word and Excel) effectively. Proficient in the development of White Papers and Technical Documentation
Verbal Communications: Demonstrates excellent clear and concise verbal communication skills.
11+ years of experience to include:
Working knowledge of the US Navy Command and Control Processor (C2P) or Joint Service Common Link Integration Processing (CLIP) environment
Proven experience in requirements development and analysis
Successful results in software development using C++ Programming Language
Experience using Eclipse IDE for C++ Development and GIT as source code repository
Experience with cloud development environments using Collaborative Software Armory Tool Sets.
Customer Interface Activities: Suitable inter-personnel and customer service skills required to interface with corporate customers. Ability to effectively communicate with the Customer, SSC-Pacific Center's staff, and peer contractor personnel.
Project Management / Staff Supervision Tasks: Ability to manage and prioritize tasks to ensure optimum productivity. Ability to document and track project time lines and milestones

Minimum Education Requirements: BS in Computer Science or Engineering or Mathematics. BS degree can be substituted with 11 years of experience.
U.S. Citizenship is required
Candidates must have an active clearance OR the ability to obtain a US Government security clearance, and will be subject to a US security background investigation (i.e. favorable background investigation / credit score). Additional eligibility requirements for access to various levels of classified information may also be required. An active security clearance is highly desirable.
