    Overview

     We are currently seeking a CTBCTB / PGC Tactical Data Link Systems Test Specialist. The project duties involve the equipment configuration, maintenance, and repair of the CDLMS, C2P, and ancillary tactical data link systems resident in the SSC Pacific Combined Test Bed. Provides complex system problem isolation/detection and resolution of shipboard Tactical Data Link systems including CDLMS, TADIL J Gateway and host simulators, and JTIDS/MIDS radio equipment during Interoperability testing/assessment.

     

    Responsibilities

    Essential Functions/Job Duties:

    Provides system expertise in tactical data link systems during live and simulated testing in the SSC PAC Combined Test Bed (CTB) / (PGC) San Diego laboratory.

    Independently provides subject matter expertise in maintaining the Next Generation C2P for various test requirements and ensures operational readiness.

    Plans and directs the use of Combined Test Bed C4I systems/assets in support of test events.

    Develops and maintains test scenarios and system architectures for application in a distributive test environment.

    Documents and reports C4I system test case anomalies and system problem and root cause analysis results.

    Uses experience and independent judgment to plan and accomplish assigned tasks and to identify test and analysis process improvement procedures.

    Assesses the communications and Multi-TDL system architecture performance to support the potential corrective actions or resolutions required.

     

    Equipment Used: Generic PC Workstations, CDLMS, ADSI, DLGW, NSITE, TJHS, Aegis Weapon System, LMMT, TDACS, SLINKI, various electronic peripherals.

     

     

    Typical Working Conditions: General office environment; Computer/Equipment lab; US Naval Ship (Non-Hostile)

     

     

    Essential Physical Tasks: Potential domestic travel 10% of the time by automobile, air, etc. Ability to lift 10 lbs. on an occasional basis. Ability to use a personal computer, keyboard and mouse on a consistent basis.

     

    Written Communications: Clearly defines, describes, and lists steps and processes required to accurately verify specific A3C4I system performance requirements (i.e. generate detailed test plans and procedures). Operates standard computer based business tools (including but not limited to Microsoft Word and Excel) effectively.

     

     

    Verbal Communications:  Participates in pre/post-mission meetings and teleconferences with customer and other contractor/civilian/military representatives. Demonstrates excellent clear and concise verbal communication skills.

     

    Qualifications

    Skills / Qualifications:

    Ten years in depth technical knowledge and experience with Tactical Data Link systems, specifically Next Generation JTIDS and C2P radio shipboard equipment.

    In depth knowledge and experience using MIL-STD 6016, DoD Interface Standards, Operational Specifications, and TDL-J Message Standards.

    Knowledge of computer system networking and interfacing protocols used in commercial and military communications systems (MIL-STD-1397, TCP/IP).

     

     

    Customer Interface Activities: Interfaces with customers and other contractor/civilian/military representatives utilizing clear and effective written and oral communication skills.
    Provides input for consolidated event Daily Status Reports (DSR). Participates in pre/post-mission meetings and teleconferences with customer and other contractor/civilian/military representative.

     

     

    Project Management Tasks: Ability to manage and prioritize tasks to ensure optimum productivity.

    Minimum Education Requirements:
    High School diploma or GED

     

     

    U.S. Citizenship is required

     

    Security Clearance:

     

    Candidates must have an active clearance OR  the ability to obtain a US Government security clearance, and will be subject to a US security background investigation (i.e. favorable background investigation / credit score). Additional eligibility requirements for access to various levels of classified information may also be required. An active security clearance is highly desirable.
