Overview

Position Overview: We are currently seeking an Information Assurance Specialist to support the Ballistic Missile Defence project.

Primary role of IA Specialist is administrative & technical expert within the BMD Network/IA team and conducts IA and windows workstation system administrative duties on the SSC PAC BMD networks. 

Independently provide support with implementation requirements of the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) standards (eMASS, STIG, SCAP, & ACAS).  In depth knowledge of IA practices for computer networking systems and interfacing protocols used in support of Aegis BMD Program.

 

Responsibilities

Essential Functions/Job Duties: 

Provide  Cyber security Workforce (CSWF) Information Assurance Technical (IAT) support using Information Assurance (IA) practices.  

Primary role of IA Specialist is administrative & technical expert within the BMD Network/IA team and conducts IA and windows workstation system administrative duties on the SSC PAC BMD networks. 

Independently provide support with implementation requirements of the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) standards (eMASS, STIG, SCAP, & ACAS).  In depth knowledge of IA practices for computer networking systems and interfacing protocols used in support of Aegis BMD Program.

Executes Windows Patch Management, Windows Server Update Service (WSUS), and Host Based Security Service (HBSS).

 

 

Skills / Qualifications: 3 years experience with basic knowledge in information assurance and with  Security Plus Certified

 

 

Equipment Used:  Computers, Servers, Switches, Cables

 

 

Typical Working Conditions: Laboratory Environment- Computer/Equipment lab.  

 

 

Essential Physical Tasks: Ability to lift 10 lbs on an occasional basis. Ability to use a computer and mouse on a consistent basis.

 

 

Written Communications: Independently generates documentation that presents ideas and/or information in a logical manner. Able to organize the information and use the best methods and/or formats for its' delivery (e.g. Government instructions, industry de-facto standards, etc.).

 

 

Verbal Communications: Demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills in the English language.
 

Qualifications

 

Customer Interface Activities: Interfaces with customer and other contractor/civilian/military representatives utilizing clear and effective written and oral communication skills. 

 

Project Management: 

Follows Government, company, or project processes and approval methods.  Ability to follow clear established process and team priorities.

Contributes to the project team and/or manages a project task.

 

Work Schedule:   9/80

 
Minimum Education Requirements: 
High School diploma.,  BS preferred 

 

 

Required Certifications: IAT Level 1; Must achieve Windows 7 certification within 6 months of accepting position.

 

U.S. Citizenship is required

 

Security Clearance:

 

Candidates must have an active clearance OR  the ability to obtain a US Government security clearance, and will be subject to a US security background investigation (i.e. favorable background investigation / credit score). Additional eligibility requirements for access to various levels of classified information may also be required. An active security clearance is highly desirable.
