Responsible for the software engineering knowledge of the MIDS JTRS product line, future product upgrades and enhancements.
Supports the MIDS Product Managers in providing technical data reviews for program planning and decision making; providing system related technical support to the Acquisition, Configuration and Data Management, Logistics, and Engineering Reviews. Interfacing with Industries, platforms leads, and vendors.
Provides engineering expertise for supporting the porting of networking and tactical data links to U.S. Navy software-defined radios.
Provides engineering support necessary to monitor and critique prime contractors development and modifications of tactical data link waveforms (WF).
Provides engineering expertise reviewing software test plans and software test procedures ensuring requirements of tactical data links, networking WFs and terminal operating systems are properly tested.
Adjudicates industry responses to government comments in order to ensure proper and agreed upon path forward.
Provides engineering reviews of Engineering Change Proposal (ECP), Problem Reports (PRs), and Information Requests (IRs).
Provides engineering and communication skills in generating presentation material for management.
Requires 10-15 years combined system engineering & software development experience.
Experience implementing software architectures for new software defined radio (SDR) systems.
Experience with all aspects of a Software Development Life Cycle (design, development, testing, and implementation)
Customer Interface Activities:
Uses independent discretion to develop an effective client to customer communication process involving stakeholder identification, planned communication, efficient information distribution, and managing expectations.
Minimum Education Requirements:
BS degree in a relevant technical discipline can be substituted with 10 years relevant experience.
U.S. Citizenship is required
Candidates must have an active clearance OR the ability to obtain a US Government security clearance, and will be subject to a US security background investigation (i.e. favorable background investigation / credit score). Additional eligibility requirements for access to various levels of classified information may also be required. An active security clearance is highly desirable.
