Overview

Support the Poland Aegis Ashore (PO AA) Missile Defense System performing maintenance tasks for the ISNS or CANES and ADNS IAW the Navy PMS (OPNAVINST 4790.4 series).  Assess computer networks that interface with the combat system and tactical data link systems on shipboard and shore based facilities including the strategic and regional teleport at the Naval Computer and Telecommunications Station assigned to PL AA. 

 

This position will be in Poland

Responsibilities

Perform maintenance tasks for the ISNS or CANES and ADNS IAW the Navy PMS (OPNAVINST 4790.4 series). Support PL AA maintenance and engineering and assess network requirements to satisfy the technical requirements for the DV(9) baseline. Ensure full network integration into the C4I system and full interoperability with other ship and shore nodes, meeting Aegis BMD requirements.

Support ADNS installation and System Operational Verification Test (SOVT) in PL AA and ISNS or CANES and ADNS maintenance and software and hardware upgrades.

Assess computer networks that interface with the combat system and tactical data link systems on shipboard and shore based facilities including the strategic and regional teleport at the Naval Computer and Telecommunications Station assigned to PL AA.

Identify C4I interoperability issues and recommend solutions to PL AA leadership, provide networks engineering on C4I related activities for ISNS or CANES and video teleconference systems, and assist the system administrator in network support functions.

Provide ISNS or CANES and ADNS subject matter expertise to support ISNS or CANES maintenance and troubleshooting efforts and qualify and provide support as a Communications Security Material System (CMS) custodian.

Qualifications

Skills and Qualifications:  High School or GED. Eight or more years of experience with US NAVY Network Systems ISNS, ADNS.

WAN/LAN Network Administration

In depth technical knowledge in ISNS COMPOSE software.

In depth technical knowledge in CISCO routers. CCNA, Security+, Microsoft Windows 7, and CASP 

 

 

Equipment Used:  Operates standard computer based business tools (including but not limited to Microsoft Word and Excel) effectively.

 

Customer Interface:  Interfaces with customers and other contractor/civilian/military representatives utilizing clear and effective written and oral communication skills.
Provides input for consolidated BMD event Daily Status Reports (DSR).

 

Written/Verbal Communications:  Proficient in the reading, writing and comprehension of technical documentation and manuals.

Demonstrates excellent clear and concise verbal communication skills.
Active communicator  - giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate.

 

Work Schedule:  The ability to work non-standard work hours and schedules in support of project requirements.

 

Education Requirements:  High School or GED.

 

Certifications: Microsoft Windows 7,Linux+ and CASP

 

 

U.S. Citizenship is required

 

Security Clearance:  Candidates must have an active clearance OR the ability to obtain a US Government security clearance, and will be subject to a US security background investigation (i.e. favorable background investigation/credit score). Additional eligibility requirements for access to various levels of classified information may also be required.  An active security clearance is highly desirable.
