Overview

Perform as the Technical Subject Matter Expert for the Poland Aegis Ashore satellite communication systems.

 

Coordinate and maintain satellite resources and message traffic (e.g., UHF and EHF satellite access authorizations), coordinate with Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center Pacific’s Ballistic Missile Test Bed, San Diego for reach back technical support to resolve EXCOM issues as required and qualify and provide support as a CMS custodian.

 

This position will be in Poland

Responsibilities

Perform maintenance tasks for the EXCOM system IAW the Navy PMS (OPNAVINST 4790.4 series).

Perform maintenance tasks at heights or aloft to perform antenna maintenance.

Act as technical SME for PL AA EXCOM systems including Navy Multi-band Terminal and digital modular radio terminals.

Maintain, and troubleshoot the radio frequency systems for super high frequency, Ultra High Frequency (UHF) and Extremely High Frequency (EHF) in support of satellite connectivity for tactical data links and voice networks; and configure, maintain and troubleshoot tactical variant switching, joint tactical terminal systems and global positioning system/coordinated universal time timing systems.

Qualifications

Skills and Qualifications: 8 or more years of experience in US NAVY Radio Frequency communication systems.

Satellite TDL-J, Multicast TDL-J tactical data systems and associated

Military Satellite communications system.

 

Customer Interface:  Interfaces with customers and other contractor/civilian/military representatives utilizing clear and effective written and oral communication skills.
Provides input for consolidated BMD event Daily Status Reports (DSR).

 

Written/Verbal Communications:  Proficient in the reading, writing and comprehension of technical documentation and manuals.

Demonstrates excellent clear and concise verbal communication skills.
Active communicator  - giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate.

 

Equipment Used: Operates standard computer based business tools (including but not limited to Microsoft Word and Excel) effectively.

 

Minimum Education Requirements: High School or GED.

 

 

U.S. Citizenship is required

 

Security Clearance:  Candidates must have an active clearance OR the ability to obtain a US Government security clearance, and will be subject to a US security background investigation (i.e. favorable background investigation/credit score). Additional eligibility requirements for access to various levels of classified information may also be required.  An active security clearance is highly desirable.
