We are currently seeking a qualified candidate to develop, organize, and conduct classroom/podium training and educational programs on U.S. Navy SHF communications systems for active duty Navy operators and maintainers. Training program requires ability to conduct traditional classroom instruction and support maintenance and operations training on the West Coast.


Develops, organizes and conducts classroom/podium training and educational programs on U.S. Navy SHF communications systems for active duty Navy operators and maintainers.
Conducts dynamic assessment of the sailors' abilities to comply with approved SHF maintenance and operational procedures and thereafter provides formal appraisal of performance with recommendations for improvement and methods to maintain technical and tactical proficiency.
Develops, tests, maintains, and delivers training programs and related materials in support of SHF training for operations and maintenance. Establishes course content and objectives.
Supports SHF course reviews and curriculum updates; conducts training gap analysis, provides formal feedback and develops criteria for evaluating the effectiveness of training activities.
Maintains records of SHF training activities, participant progress and program effectiveness. 
Maintains current knowledge of relevant SHF technologies as assigned. Participates in special projects as required.
Conducts training sessions and develops criteria for evaluating the effectiveness of SHF training activities. 



Minimum three (3) years with the SHF system as a maintenance technician or operator with responsibility for teaching at apprentice level training environment. 

One (1) year of experience as an instructor in a Navy Training Environment; to include curriculum maintenance; writing learning objectives; preparing test items; evaluating instructional materials and the results of instruction and counseling students on academic learning problems.

Previous experience teaching C4I :AN/USQ-82(V) DMS or Fiber Optic Data Multiplexing System (FODMS) is desired.

Past experience as trainer/instructor in support of C4I systems such as AN/USQ-82(V) DMS.


Typical Working Conditions: General office/classroom environment, US Navy ship


Essential Physical Tasks:

Ability to sit at a desk for extended periods of time, using a computer and mouse. Ability to climb up and down ladders on-board ships. Must be able to support training with extended periods on your feet while instructing.  Must be able to embark ship for 5-10 days.  The ability to work non-standard work hours and schedules in support of project requirements.

Written Communications:

Independently generates all required documentation (as detailed in job duties), including daily, weekly and monthly status reports as necessary.


Verbal Communications:

Presentations in a classroom/training environment.Demonstrates excellent clear and concise verbal communication skills. Able to give comprehensive 


Customer Interface Activities: 

As required, directly supports and interfaces with the government customer. 


Travel: Up to 10%

Minimum Education Requirements:
HS Diploma

Bachelor's Degree (Arts or Sciences) in a related technical discipline (Desired not Required) ; or the equivalent combination of education; technical certifications or training; or work/military experience totaling at least 3 years with the SHF system as a maintenance technician or operator with responsibility for teaching at apprentice level training environment.

U.S. Citizenship is required


Security Clearance:  Secret


Candidates must have an active clearance OR  the ability to obtain a US Government security clearance, and will be subject to a US security background investigation (i.e. favorable background investigation / credit score). Additional eligibility requirements for access to various levels of classified information may also be required. An active security clearance is highly desirable.
